MY STORY
FITNESS HAS ALWAYS BEEN PART OF MY LIFE.
BUT LIFE HAS A HABIT OF GETTING IN THE WAY.
Football was a huge part of my life growing up. I played constantly as a kid and eventually went on to play professionally and semi-professionally, so being fit was simply normal to me.
When football became less serious, the gym took its place. I became increasingly interested in resistance training and, because fitness had always been such a natural part of my life, qualifying as a Personal Fitness Trainer felt like the obvious direction to take.
In 2006, I qualified through the Australian Institute of Fitness. I began working as a mobile trainer, running one-to-one and small group sessions, before spending some time working in a hotel gym after moving to Spain.
But things didn’t quite work out as I’d imagined.
I couldn’t speak Spanish at the time, which made building a career in the fitness industry difficult. After a short period working in fitness sales, an opportunity came along to become a P.E. teacher at a British school in Spain.
Fitness remained part of my life, and I continued training alongside teaching and coaching football. But eventually something happened that will probably sound familiar to a lot of men …
Life got busy.
Work. Family. Football coaching. Responsibilities.
The things that needed doing gradually started taking priority over the things I knew I should be doing for myself.
For a couple of years, I lost my way with training. I wasn’t dramatically overweight or facing some huge health crisis. I simply wasn’t in the shape I’d always been in.
SOMETHING NEEDED TO CHANGE.
Then a couple of family members said something that stuck with me:
“It’s not like you to be out of shape.”
They were right.
A belly was starting to appear, and I realised that if I kept allowing things to drift, it wasn’t going to get better by itself.
So I started again.
Not with some extreme transformation challenge. Not with a ridiculous diet. I simply got back into training, started making better choices and rebuilt the habits I’d allowed to disappear.
And as I began seeing progress, something else returned with it.
My passion for helping other people through fitness.
WHY I CREATED MFQ
I STARTED SEEING MEN WHO WANTED TO CHANGE.
THEY JUST DIDN’T ALWAYS KNOW HOW.
As I got back into training and rebuilt my own habits,
I started paying more attention to other men’s fitness journeys.
I saw men who had become seriously overweight deciding they’d had enough.
Men walking into gyms despite feeling uncomfortable and out of place.
Men working hard to lose weight, build strength and take control of their health.
What impressed me wasn’t where they were starting. It was that they’d decided to start.
BUT I ALSO NOTICED SOMETHING ELSE.
Many of these men were asking the same kinds of questions.
And depending on where they looked for answers,
they could find completely different advice.
FITNESS HAD BECOME FAR MORE COMPLICATED THAN IT NEEDED TO BE.
There was no shortage of information. The problem was knowing what information to trust and what actually mattered.
That’s when the idea behind Men’s Fitness Quest began to take shape.
I wanted to create something for ordinary men who had reached that point where they knew they needed to change …
but didn’t necessarily know where to begin.
A place where men could learn the fundamentals of training, nutrition and healthy habits without being made to feel stupid for not already knowing the answers.
HOW SHOULD
I TRAIN?
WHAT SHOULD
I EAT?
DO I NEED
SUPPLEMENTS?
HOW DO I LOSE
FAT WITHOUT
LOSING MUSCLE?
HOW MANY TIMES
A WEEK SHOULD
I EXERCISE?
AM I DOING THIS
EXERCISE
PROPERLY?

Men’s Fitness Quest began to take shape.

NO MIRACLE
TRANSFORMATIONS.
NO EXTREME
DIETS.
NO PRETENDING FITNEES
NEEDS TO BECOME YOUR
ENTIRE LIFE.
Just straightforward guidance that gives you the knowledge and confidence to take control of your own fitness …
and eventually know how to do it for yourself.
THAT’S WHY MEN’S FITNESS QUEST EXISTS.
WHAT MFQ STANDS FOR
FITNESS WITHOUT THE FACADE.
STRENGTH WITHOUT THE EGO.
MFQ is built on a simple belief: men don’t need more hype, confusion or unrealistic promises. They need honest information, practical guidance and the confidence to take control of their own fitness.
1
HONESTY OVER HYPE
I’ll tell you what I genuinely believe works and what doesn’t.
Fitness is full of exaggerated claims, questionable advice and people trying to sell the next shortcut. MFQ exists to cut through that noise and give you straightforward information you can actually use.
2
KEEP IT SIMPLE
Fitness doesn’t need to be complicated to be effective.
You don’t need the perfect workout, the perfect diet or twenty different supplements. MFQ will always aim to make training, nutrition and healthy habits easier to understand and easier to put into practice.
3
CONSISTENCY BEATS PERFECTION
Real change isn’t built in 30 days. It’s built by showing up again and again.
There will be missed workouts. Meals that don’t go to plan. Holidays. Busy weeks. Life happens.
What matters is what you do consistently over months and years — not whether you were perfect this week.
4
STRONG FOR LIFE
The goal isn’t simply to look better. It’s to build a body that allows you to live better.
Yes, losing fat and building muscle matter. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to look good and feel proud of your body.
But MFQ is about something bigger: strength, health, confidence and physical capability that you can carry into your 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond.
MFQ ISN’T HERE TO MAKE YOU DEPENDENT ON MFQ.
The goal is to give you the knowledge, tools and confidence to understand your own fitness — so eventually, you don’t need someone constantly telling you what to do.
**WE’RE NOT HERE TO IMPRESS YOU. WE’RE HERE TO EMPOWER YOU.**
YOUR TURN
YOU DON’T NEED TO HAVE IT ALL FIGURED OUT.
YOU JUST NEED TO START.
Maybe you’re here because you’ve put on some weight. Maybe you don’t feel as strong or fit as you used to. Or perhaps you’ve tried to make a change before but struggled to make it stick.
Wherever you’re starting from, MFQ is here to help you understand what actually matters, build better habits and become stronger, healthier and more confident one step at a time.
You don’t need perfection. You need a direction, a plan and the willingness to keep showing up.
YOUR FITNESS. YOUR HEALTH. YOUR QUEST.
